WordPress for Android on HTC Desire Z

Having recently downloaded WordPress for Android from the Android Market, and having lots of time to kill, I thought I’d try it out. It’s 10:21 now.

I brought my car in for a service this morning thinking it would be quiet.

Not only is it not quiet, but because I didn’t have an appointment I have to wait extra long, meaning I’ll be here another hour ontop of the hour I’ve already waited… if I’m lucky.

On any other day that would be a problem, but today I have the HTC Desire Z with me, which is equipped with the said WordPress installation and a slide-out keyboard. Doesn’t that just scream “blog me”?

So, here I am, typing away and it’s going surprisingly fast. As with all things in life, the more you do it the easier it gets.

Of course, WordPress for Android is also very condusive to this setup. After logging in to your WordPress blog, you get a mini version of your admin panel to work with, so everything is immediately familiar.

I’m going to try and add a photo of where I am, let’s see how that works…

I clicked the add button and had the choice of adding an existing photo or take a new one. After I shot a new one, WordPress for Android added it to the media section, not inside the post, so I’m not sure where it will appear.

I moved it in an edit afterwards – WordPress for Android placed it at the top of the post.

Right, let’s wrap this up. I’m just going to put the post in a category and add some tags… done.

And, ready to publish. It’s 10:37 now.
