i got here after googling upperstar when I received several bad attacks/comments on my bad review of upperstar. your negative review is one of the few i've seen on the net. i wonder if they filtered out the bad reviews

anyway, i'm glad i read this post because i'm sick of ppl bashing me for saying the food is bad.

Great blog, this is an issue to be raised, and the reason why little italy service is good because they are matured, stabalize, focused and most of all, customer oriented long serving staffs.

They learn from tuorist comments, they expose to foreign expectation locally and most of all, they learn from their master's whom is an italian expactation when they are new…

I think, mindset is important … humble,alert and people's person .. is the key to customer service personal

Yeah man, I honestly think upperstar is sleezy…

The staff looked like they just got picked from the street. Alot of times they got our orders wrong & dared to give us "the look".

Hey Jaco! Its me Dinoza. Had a blast playing frisbee with you and the rest of the group. Anyway, Upperstar's Star is Dimming alrite. I already got pissed off with the service way back from the Damai branch. And yes, sadly service in general from your very simple indian coffee shop to fine dining restaurant has dropped. Not all as some are still really good like Little Italy that you've mentioned. But sadly in general… Blargh…

Yea Upperstar sucked. We Sabahans seem to take a laid back tak-apa attitude to everything (traffic, long queues, shit service) and frankly, its one of the reasons why we're desperately lagging behind.

We need to wake up and realise we deserve better. There was absolutely no excuse for the shoddy, unprofessional and downright rude behaviour from the staff. I felt like slapping them silly to make them realise they're no 'cool' at all.

In the past walking out was not really done, but I'm glad we did it. Screw u Upperstar.

i was there on merdeka eve and noticed that the waiters didn't look like what a proper waiter should look like ie. clean and smart-looking especially for an establishment like upperstar. but what i saw was exactly what you described, like they just rolled out of bed and have this 'gangster' look.

with all the money coming in,the management should at least give proper training on etiquette to the employees…it's a shame that the nice ambience is not accompanied with good service.

Most people don't complain, they just never go back – to the restaurant, to the town, to the tourist destination.

KK has too much going for it to get a rep for lousy service.
