Spam and love and blocking them both

It’s been a rather fruitful day.

My most prominent achievement today was finally tracking down the ever illusive Moneygram Agent whom I’ve been trying to locate since last November.

They have now moved to proper premises, sort of where you’d expect them: the busy part of town with all the businessmen and foreigners, you know, those who would want to use them. Much better than their previous place which I still don’t know the location of and neither did anyone else. Plus, they have very clever staff who can speak and understand English.

That didn’t prevent me from having to fill out the form three times though, but I have come to accept this as the standard number of times for any new form to be filled out. Suffice to say, money is winging it’s way across cyberspace to it’s destination, and all is well.

Second achievement of the day was spending the last two hours with my very limited knowledge of PHP, hacking myself a little scripty that will put pain on the Filthy Spammers that hit me.

Actually, for a few days it will just generate an error of which those filthy spammer bots won’t even be aware, but after that, if it works like I’m hoping it will, I will turn it so that whenever they hit my site, they will hit their own site. And there’s so much spammer traffic to go around, they will share my pain. I hope.

Third of the events today was one of my colleagues being clearly bothered about something. And she’s a real ray of sunshine, so today when she was bothered, it was obvious, because she was so different.

I asked her what was up; she said nothing. We had a class together after which I told her that if she wanted to talk she could just say and that I would be happy to listen. She was quite intrigued by this as first of all I noticed that something bothered her, and secondly I was persistent enough to offer her my ear.

I think she was smitten, because she brought me some dumplings this evening. She’s a beautiful woman and fun to be with.

Anyway, long day – visited many banks, spoke to many people… so now I’m a bit pooped. Let’s see if I can do anything to those filthy spammers…
