This is day two and attempt number 4 gazillion of trying to capture this entry. For some reason I can only produce garble. How will it be different from the rest of this Blog? Good question, but I don’t feel good about it, unlike the rest of it
Ok, let me keep it brief. On Saturday after work, Lara and I went Karaoke’ing in aide of practising for the annual company do that The Restaurant will have on the 15th. In attendance will be around 300 employees from the main company… and the two of us will sing. One Chinese song, one English song.
We went to two KTV places, both of similar layout. One lounge area where everyone sits, drinks and sing songs as the feeling grabs them and then several smaller private rooms. The rooms are for groups or people more than 1, to do in private things like singing… or whatever else you can imagine in a small, private room, with doors that can lock, relatively comfortable couches and loud music playing *cough*. Moving on.
The first joint we entered was ok, but we ended up not staying, least of the reasons being the expensive drink. The second place we went to was a lot smaller and the small private room they gave us smelled nice. I was slightly suspicious of this, but forgot about it when we started singing. We sang the songs listed in the previous post, plus a selection of English songs. We stayed for 2 and half hours, I remember, because we paid by the hour (?).
It was 20 yuan per hour for the room, and a beer cost us 15 yuan (guess where they make their money). We also had a plate of ever-popular sunflower seeds that cost 12 yuan (now guess where they make their money). Last night we went KTV Pub crawling, peeking in here and there at the different places, but they all look pretty much the same.
It does appear though, the places on the Wuyan side of The Restaurant are better looking, but also more expensive.
Last night, T had SMS’ed me saying the bus she was on (going to Wuhan) was in an accident and that she was in hospital with minor injuries. I spoke to her today and she said her ankle (or foot’s neck as she called it) was a bit swollen, but that otherwise she was ok.
And that’s it. Let me post this puppy before I erase it all again.
